Buses to and from Bologna Airport (BLQ)
Bologna Airport is one of Italy’s most significant airports in terms of passenger traffic, handling over five and a half million passengers since 2010. This number of passengers seems to only be increasing as the airport grows in popularity. There are various transportation options to or from the airport, which include those of bus services. Bus companies always provide very valuable and cost efficient services from airports around the world, and the bus services at Alghero Airport are popular with many passengers.
The airport consists of a three-level terminal building that handles all domestic and international flights. The upper level of the airport is mainly used for restaurant and catering facilities, while the first floor houses the security control and boarding areas for departure flights. On the ground floor, there is the arrival meet and greet area, as well as some of the check-in desks for departure flights. The air terminal is well organized and modern, and fairly easy to navigate. Passengers arriving at Bologna will find the various bus services just outside of the main arrivals exit. The bus companies are Aerobus, ATCM and Sena Autolinee, which provide transport services to various locations.
The Aerobus
This is the local bus service that connects the airport to areas in the city of Bologna. It is referred to as the BLQ Aerobus, and is an express shuttle, which travels to the main railway station in Bologna, as well as other suburban areas in the city. The Aerobus is available from the airport throughout the day and until later in the evening, with the first bus departure at 06:00. The last bus to leave the airport is at 23:45. Depending on traffic conditions, and the time of year, travelling by bus to Bologna Railway Station takes around 20 minutes. During very busy trade fair times, rush hours or tourist seasons, traffic may be quite heavy around the airport, and the journey will take a little longer.
Bus tickets can be purchased from the driver onboard the bus if you are travelling from the airport, or from various retail outlets or bus stations in Bologna. The Aerobus is also frequently available from the railway station to the airport.
The ATCM Bus Service

The buses leave from outside the arrivals area, approximately every two hours, and the journey takes just under an hour.
Tickets can also be purchased on the bus for this trip, or passengers can use the ATCM Card. There are no extra charges for luggage, and younger children travelling with two adults will board the bus for free. The ATCM buses are available from Bologna Airport between the hours of 05:15 and 21:30.
